Mason Korea: 2024 No Limits Fundraising Campaign
There are just 5 days remaining in the Mason Korea: 2024 No Limits Fundraising Campaign. While we have surpassed our goal of $70,000, it is incredibly important that we try to do more so we can help as many students as possible.
I wanted to just reshare a bit of what I wrote on LinkedIn about my connection to George Mason University and why this campaign is important to me:
Did you attend George Mason University or George Mason University Korea?
No – I did not go to George Mason University. I was actually introduced to the school this past year by Anne Choe. My friends Rod Rothwell and Christina Cha, who both work at the school, have also been incredibly helpful in sharing more about George Mason Korea's program and students. Lastly, thank you to Robert Matz for the opportunity to join the Advisory Board for George Mason University Korea and Joshua Park for the support since he's taken over running the school.
Why this campaign?
The quote in the image below is just a small segment of the answer I originally submitted. Below is the full question and answer. Though to add one additional thought, I believe that education can change lives and needs based scholarships are an incredibly important part in helping to make sure that everyone has the opportunity to a great education.
What inspired you to become our supporter?
What inspired me to become a supporter was my own experience during college, where every dollar I had truly made a difference. My education was mostly funded by student loans, so I learned early on how to stretch my resources while trying to balance my studies. I still remember how much it meant to receive a couple of local scholarships in high school that helped to cover my books and other living costs, lifting some of the financial stress.
I want to give that same support to students today through the No Limits campaign. I sincerely hope these scholarships enable the recipients at Mason Korea to thrive academically while at the same time build lifelong friendships, just as I was fortunate to do.
